I may be complaining a bit too much without giving other Machinimators a chance but how many songs will stack upon the same song. I'm on a boat i know of has been used 4 times (I use Garrote, I'm on a mount, and i'm on a zepplin, etc.) and i have yet to hear the original song. I maybe still anti-mainstream and/or really upset that the same beat was used over and over again. I admit I have heard my Vet. Machinimist Quix's "Ganker Face" and someone else, and still will always associate "Ganker Face" as the TRUE parody of Poker Face (which btw in a youth ministry article realizing that the song talks about poligamous bisexuality greatly disturbs me that non-sexual preteens can verbatum utter these words). Anyways back on track here I am willing to give everyone a listen i just crave creativity from people with so much talent but tend to pigeonhole themselves to being what the WoW community labels "BElf Rap" and not only that, there are multiple copies of the same song with different context. Sharm and Gigi did great differences in subject matter i just would like to have seen a different tune for each. But alas, if i get anything from this it'll be "Well not everyone can see what the others are doing etc etc OR but that's my taste, i won't change because of your comment." well that is not what i am asking for. Maybe it is hard using an unfamiliar song, well don't use it, you have to have more interests then the same 20-30 public forum billboard favs. Get into your Roots, i know most of oyu are a little older than me and a few younger. Go with what you like but get more diverse, i recommend limp bizkit, linkin park, metallica, korn, muse, really just look up Guitar hero & rock band soundtracks. Ehh i guess i can interpret your critisms ahead of time but really i want to see how creative you guys are not just in your lyrics but also in your melodies.
Please know you are Artists in your own right, Grow & Stretch look for songs that haven't had their share of the limelight. Be like your parodied Artist and look for that next beat not as a money (fame in this case) maker but as an opportunity to be creative. Your following as an artist will depend on how you reinvent your relation to your audience in their life.
lol yah, lots of the same songs get used over and over again. Some parodies good, others not so good. Hell, even some of the lyrics will stay the same even though other people are making them (which doesn't say much for the makers' creativity. Me, Gigi, Summergale and one other person (can't remember at the moment) all had an unfinished song. It was called "When I Level Up" which is a parody of the Pussycat Dolls "When I Grow Up." Summergale was going to mix it or something and not sure if she just got too busy or what but months down the road, the SAME parody came out with different people singing it.. and what's crazy is the similarity in the lyrics too lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally VERY tired of rap parodies in WoW. And the whole rap cypher thing. Well, maybe with the exception of Sharm's cyphers.. but yeah. I'm rambling now sorry lol
